Sewing Tips - A Tip To Help When Cutting Bulky Fabrics

Hi Sewing Friends:

Cutting Bulky Fabrics 

Do you have problems when you are cutting bulky, heavy fabrics like fleece or heavy wool?  Do you notice that the underneath piece will be slightly larger than the upper piece after you cut out the two layers together?

When you fold the fabric to prepare for cutting out the sewing pattern, no matter how carefully you smooth out these fabrics, it seems the layers stick together and they aren’t exactly the same.

Sewing Tips - Can I Mix And Match Sewing Pattern Pieces?

When you sew, many times you want to change the sewing pattern design and have a different collar or sleeve on your garment. Most often, you will look for another sewing pattern that has all the features you are looking for and start the fitting, trial and error sewing process all over again. You don’t have to do that. You can mix and match sewing pattern pieces to create your own designs.
