You can make this! Wildly Wonderful Wearables

A View Of Spring Fashions 2007

Hi Sewing Friends:

Bright hot pink and bold yellow were the two main colors in the Spring Fashion 2007 show I saw yesterday.  Of course, there was also lots of black and white with red.

Yards of chiffon and silk that was shirred, tucked, pleated, layered and bedazzled with crystals dominated the dressy outfits.

One bare shoulder is replacing the “bare belly” look.  I think I’d rather see the shoulder than the belly hanging out.  Shoulders are much more attractive.

Designers showed some nice classic suits, dresses and skirts in varied lengths.  Closer to the body fit with more darts and seams appeared in the shorter jackets, tunic and wrap dresses.

However, pants of all lengths and widths from skinny to wide, was the item of the day.  Wide cuffs on baggy, pajama style pants was a new look.  I didn’t really like it especially on the short model.  Cropped and capri length pants were the most popular for day and cruise wear.

That means we need to really work on getting fit not only by exercising, but in our sewing.  You definitely will see more close fitting sewing patterns to follow this closer to the body fashion trend.

Why not make good fitting pants your sewing priority this Spring.  You can do it with “Common Sense Fitting”.

My sewing project list includes more of my comfortable classic style pants and a new jacket.  What are your sewing project goals?

To Your Sewing And Fitting Success,

Marian
