Copy A Designer Topstitching Trick

Sewing Friends:
Here is another great tip for topstitching.
When you want your topstitching to really stand out, use a longer stitch length and topstitch a garment with a contrasting thread. Now, I know that is not news to you, but here is the something extra that maybe you didn’t know.
To make each individual top stitch really stand out, use a bobbin thread that matches the fabric. It makes each contrasting top stitch much more prominent. You will notice that is what the designers do on jeans and many other garments where topstitching is a major part of the design.
Add this tip to my other topstitching tip How To Sew More Professional Looking Top-Stitching  for really outstanding topstitching.

Another helpful sewing tip:ÂÂ
When you need a guide to help you top stitch straight, don’t try to eyeball it, use paper medical tape. It comes in various widths and works well on most fabrics. Get it at your local pharmacy. You will find multiple uses for this paper tape in your sewing room.
It just makes sense!
