When I made my “mother-of-the-groom” formal dress for my son’s wedding, I had a problem finding the “right” purse to carry.  Often, my friends complain about the same thing when they go on a cruise and they need something for “formal” nights. 

You want a nice small purse, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on it, because you know you won’t use it very much.  Solve the problem by sewing your own matching clutch purse.

The next time you sew a special occasion outfit, sew an easy clutch purse to go with it.  Don’t search all over to find the perfect bag in a store.  Use your fabric scraps and sew your own clutch purse in just a few minutes. 

The purse won’t cost you anything extra and you can even get a free pattern with detailed sewing instructions to help you make it.

I love this clutch purse as a quick and easy luxurious gift idea, too.  Sew them for all your family and friends, young and old alike. 

Use your imagination, trims, fancy stitches, embroidery, applique, beading, tassels, feathers, fringe, old jewelry, etc., to make your purse unique.

You can add a small chain or cord to make a shoulder strap if you like.
