Sewing Projects - Sew A Magic Sash

Sewing Project

Hi Sewing Friends:

Impress your friends with this Magic Sash! Sew it while they watch in amazement!  It is so much fun to see their reaction.  You will love it!

The Magic Sash is cut on grain and is stitched in such a way that it comes out bias.  This sash was originated by Edna Bryte Bishop, the grand dame of sewing who was famous for developing The Bishop Method of Clothing Construction.

I’m not sure what Mrs. Bishop called this scarf or belt, but I call it a Magic Sash.  You will see why when you sew it.

Waist sashes are a popular accessory item once again.  This sash is a great gift and only takes a few minutes to make.  Sew some for your family and friends.  Kids and teens love to sew these scarves, too.  Just carefully follow the instructions.   It’s easy.  It’s magic!

Free Sewing Project - Sew An Easy Clutch Purse

Free Sewing Project

Sewing Friends:

When I made my “mother-of-the-groom” formal dress for my son’s wedding, I had a problem finding the “right” purse to carry.  Often, my friends complain about the same thing when they go on a cruise and they need something for “formal” nights.

You want a nice small purse, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on it, because you know you won’t use it very much.  Solve the problem by sewing your own matching clutch purse.
