Be sure to watch this sewing video by Linda Lee from The Sewing Workshop. Linda offers some great tips for making round box pillows.ÂÂ
Notice that she suggests 1/2 inch seam allowances for the pillow. If you wanted to add a purchased decorative cording, the lip or seam allowance on purchased cording is 1/2 inch wide. As Linda points out, 1/2 inch seam allowances are frequently found in home dec items
So, it would be easy to insert the cording into that seam allowance. Sew the cording to the straight edge and clip in as Linda explains to attach it to the round edge.ÂÂ
I hope you realize that this tip applies to more than just sewing pillows. You want to remember this sewing technique whenever you need to sew a straight edge to a curve.
