Sewing Friends:

Restyling sweatshirts into first rate jackets is a fun sewing project that anyone can do even if you have very little sewing experience.  Mary Mulari and Nancy Zieman offer a lot of ideas and instructions on how to make these sweatshirts in their videos

Watch  Nancy and Mary create first rate sweatshirts here.

You will love watching the videos.  Nancy and Mary will inspire you to create your own one of a kind sweatshirt jacket.  Experiment with your own ideas.  You are only limited by your imagination.  There are no rules.  This is very creative sewing.  Be sure to try some of the techniques.

Kids really love to create sweatshirt jackets, too.  It’s quick and easy and that’s what they want.  A sweatshirt is a great place for them to express their individuality.  Let them pick out their colors, fabric, trims, etc.

Have fun making your own first rate sweatshirt jackets.

It just makes sense!

To Your Sewing Success,

Marian

Kwik Sew Pattern No. 3236 - Patch Jacket

Sewing Friends:

If you have ever wanted to sew a classy patch jacket, Kwik Sew Pattern 3236 is one that I recommend.  My students are creating some really awesome jackets using this pattern.

The fabrics that the students chose range from various drapery silky type fabrics to batiks, corduroy, denim, faux suede and various cottons.

Those students with short necks chose to eliminate the collar.

We added a bust dart coming out of the armhole for the students with larger busts.  This worked very well.

Kwik Sew 3236 is not a difficult pattern to sew.  However, because of the many pattern pieces and different fabrics required, it can be a little tricky to figure out. Here are some tips to help you achieve sewing success with the patch jacket.
