Sewing Friends:
There are many wonderful sewing sites and sewing articles that offer good information online. I have posted a number of them for you on my blogs in the past.Â
Here are a few more suggestions that I found and some that my sewing friends recently sent to me. Hope you enjoy them. Be sure to send in your favorites and we will add them to our list.
The Home Sewing Association published a few more sewing guidelines for you. Check out the pdf files on making pillows and hemming jeans.
Recently, I have had two requests for sewing patterns for wheelchair users.   For free sewing patterns, go to Independent Living.
Here is a site offering free 18 inch doll sewing patterns. Go to Infinite Freedom
Armhole fit is critical to a good fitting bodice. See Sarah Veblen’s article in Threads, “To Get The Right Armhole, Fit The Bodice”
Be sure to read “Bungled Buttonholes” , an excerpt from the book, Sewing 911, by Barbara Deckert for some great tips on how to repair a bad buttonhole and how to sew better buttonholes. You don’t want to miss this. It’s good information to add to your sewing notebook.
Mastering the Narrow Hemmer is another good article by Carol Laflin Ahles. Carol offers excellent tips and photos to help you learn how to use your narrow hemmer presser feet. I know I never use mine like I should. However, I do find that I am more successful if I starch my fabric first. Try Carol’s great tips and add your own for sewing success.
Lois Ericson is simply an amazing artist. See what she does with fabric in her article, Dyeing with Bleach.
Please share your favorite sewing sites with us. We all learn so much from sharing sewing information.Â
It just makes sense!
To Your Sewing Success,
Marian
PS:  I recently became certified as a Wild Ginger Instructor. This has kept me really busy lately and is partly the reason I haven’t posted in a while. Check out my post on my Sewing Success Sewing Blog about Wild Ginger pattern making software and me.
Be sure to read my answer to a recent question: How Do I Know How Lopsided I Am. If you are lopsided and using Wild Ginger software, I would love to hear from you.
